OOTD: Spring layering

I walked out the door this morning to go to work. "snap", the beloved laptop bag almost fell to the ground. I thought it was the latch that somehow got undone. But no, the metal piece snapped. I have updated the post with some pictures at the end.

I want to apologize for not being able to keep up with blog reading and commenting these days.  Hopefully I'll get less busy one of those days. Just wishful thinking.

On to today's OOTD. I love spring. This is the season to layer. I love adding visual interest to an outfit by adding layers of different texture, color and pattern.  So I created this outfit to accomplish that.
Texture: silk, cotton, wool, nylon
Color: beige, gold, brown, blue, taupe
Pattern: solid, floral
I was oh so excited to bring out my AT pumps for the first time after I bought it. :)

Outfit details
J.Jill silk top (xxsp)
Loft outlet skirt (00P)
Loft sweater (xsp)
Loft trench (xsp)
Ann Taylor pumps (sz 5.5. buy here)
Kenneth Cole necklace
Banana Republic rope bracelet

  1. I'm so sorry to hear about your bag Vicky! Hopefully it turns out alright. I totally hear you on the busy schedule thing. It's been so nice for me to take a minute with some hot tea and just glance through everyone's posts even when I don't have time to comment. It really helps me feel a bit more energized ;) I love combining textures and prints as well. You did such a beautiful job with this outfit, very pretty!

  3. Thank goodness you were able to catch the laptop before it hit the ground. I don't know what to say... designer goods nowadays don't seem to be holding up for what it costs. Boo!

I love all the brown shades in your outfit. You actually look more fall to me :) Are the pumps AT's perfect pumps?! I thought those didn't fit you well? From my angle they look great on you!

  4. Ah! You look amazing! What a great necklace!

    J. Jill has xxsp? I always assumed they did not carry small sizes, always just walk by. How is their xxsp compared to LOFT's?

  5. You only had it for a couple of days??!! That's crazy....are you going to get a refund? I hate when you spend a lot of money for something and it is defective. Anyhows, you look great....I thought the mustardy yellow sweater was a jacket so I thought you layered two jackets....the KC necklace is so cool. Love its organic shape.

  6. Yes, only wore it 2 days and it broke the third day. The Abercrombie kids bag I got from purchasing a few kids' clothes is still holding on and it's carrying the same weight.

  7. Thank you, Michelle.

I got this at J.Jill outlet. Their xxsp is about the size of a Loft xsp I think.

  8. Whoever designed this bag should be fired. :)

These are AT perfect pumps. I had to go down half a size to get it to fit me better. I never had luck with their perfect pumps before, I don't know why this pair worked out. I'm not complaining. :)

  10. Hi Callandra. Thank you for stopping by and take your time to comment. I am the same way. I read as many posts as I can, most of the time on my iphone, so it's really hard to comment. I do enjoy the everyday treat on post reading. :)

  11. I love your look here - all the colors go together perfectly. So sorry about your laptop bag - it always shocks me when stuff just falls apart but it seems to be happening more and more lately :( Love your trench in particular! Have a great weekend.
