Banana Republic Factory tweed dress (00P) post-alteration

I finally got a chance to wear this petite favorite today - alteration done last week, but had to wait for a warmer day so I don't freeze my butt off. The only alteration on this dress was that the hem was taken in for 3". Rest part of the dress fits perfectly. See how other petites wear this dress here.

Nice thing about a great fitting sheath dress like this is that it's simply to style it. Simply throw a jacket or cardigan over it, add a strand or two of pearls and you are all set. I chose one of my favorite purchases of the year - BR sweater and added a scarf.

Now I realize what I was missing - my new baby.

Next two pictures are for you, Kelly! :) Wearing J.Crew stadium cloth coat.

Now the closeup of the scarf - a gift from a friend.

  6. It looks like it fits you well! And that reminds me, I still need to take proper post-alterations pics of mine! My only gripe (with mine) is that I wish the bottom was a little more tapered since it seems to have gotten wider after the hem job.

  7. Love it...post-hem is the perfect length on you. Hemming is always a little tricky even for the most basic jobs, because sometimes it just doesn't look right after alterations. You look beeeautiful!

  30. dress looks great on you Vicky! I saw it at the outlet few months ago for around $90...too expensive...too small for me (only one 00P hanging)...and too mature for me. also, I've been checking jcrew.com for this peacoat every freakin day but NO LUCK =(

  32. Hi Vicky,

This dress looks beyond perfect on you! I can't believe your dad did the alterations; he's got some skills there. I have had such bad luck with my alterations that I pretty much gave up altogether. :(

When the craze about this tweed dress happened a few weeks ago, I called a store to check if they have it in 00P but no such luck. I missed out big time!

I'm a petite with a new blog. If you have time, please stop by to say hello. Thank you. :)
