All about Loft

I think Loft has been doing so much for me that it deserves a special post in my blog.

Where should I start? Let's start with Loft facebook featuring "How Bloggers Wear Loft.." series. I had the honor to be featured twice in the series. First time in "How Bloggers Wear LOFT to Work." and second time in "How Bloggers Wear LOFT on the Weekend." Check out how other bloggers wear LOFT as well. It's so much fun. Thank you, LOFT!

Second, I want to compliment LOFT customer service, yet again! I bought a whole bunch of items from Loft last weekend, not knowing that it would be on further sale this week yet again. I didn't even get a chance to wear them yet. So I stopped by the local store today with my receipt and clothing items and asked them if I could get a price adjustment. For sale items they couldn't do price adjustment without the items themselves, but with the items, they were able to do a return and re-purchase to save me tons of money.  The scuba dress is now $18 and the velvet jacket is now $26, the tweed jacket is now $26, and the scuba jacket (yes, I got a 0P last week) is not $31. Also seeing how cute this jacket looked on Mini Maestra, I also gave it a try today. They happened to have one 00P left, and I snatched it for $21. I know I now own pretty much ALL the jackets there is in Loft. Haha.

Last but not least I want to mention one exciting giveawayLOFT will be giving away 10 pairs of their best- selling Over The Knee Riding Boots, that have sold out almost everywhere! Beginning on November 1st, they will be giving away 2 pairs of boots a day in the following sizes: 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, and 9. Visit LOFT’s Facebook fan page to receive more details on how to enter!

You might ask, what's up with the size starting at 7? Well, I asked the same question. Loft, please consider us petites next time you do a giveaway. For those of you who are size 7 to 9, good luck!

Happy Halloween!!!

Lace dress and military jacket

Today was supposed to be a challenge day. The Petite Fashion Challenge #3 sponsored by Petite Little Girl was a real challenge to me: recreate an outfit that your favorite celebrity wears. I don't follow celebrities. I can't name any names, it's almost embarrassing. So I guess I'm just challenged out. I blame it on the cold!

BUT, do check out other 23 lovely ladies taking the challenge and recreate their favorite celebrity outfits by going to Petite Little Girl's blog post and click on the links.

We had some warm days this week and temperature went up to the 70s. I took out the lace balloon dress I bought from f21 this summer and wear it one last time before the cold weather sticks.  I can't get enough military jackets this year. I just love the look. This one is from Loft outlet. I think it's really cute and great for summer layering. This outfit is really colorless, so I stood in front of our beautiful burning bushes and it added instant color. :)

Just another day

I am totally swamped at work. Plus being sick for almost a week, I almost couldn't get enough energy to dress up for work, let alone taking pictures. So I'm going to post this work outfit which I'm totally not crazy about and leave it at that. You probably recognize all pieces but one in this picture from other petite blogger posts. I have to say that I love the skirt and the top from Loft. The skirt is a great fit on me, although it posed some problem for Callandra.  MiniMaestra reviewed it when it first come out and she seemed to love it. I love the way she paired it with the stripe sweater. I will make sure to try that combo. :)
Outfit details:
Top: Loft (xxsp, love the petals in front)
Skirt: Loft (00p, buy it here)
T-strap: Target (I also wore it in this post)
Cardigan: Bill Burns (xs, previous season)

Gap lucky45 haul

When I heard about the Gap lucky45 deal (today only) - 45% off all regular priced items in store only with GAP card, I commented on their facebook page that I really didn't plan on going because they don't carry any petite sizes in store. I requested that they extend this offer to online as well, let's see how much they listen to their customers. Then I decided to go in anyways because I have two kids to shop for. I ended up coming out with 3 bags of clothes, granted the bags were small, but the purchase were very satisfactory overall.

First, this Wool boucle trench coat for my 10 year old daughter. The coat is adorable in person and true to size. I got her a size 10 and it looks amazing on her. I'd say the size 12 or 14 would fit most of the petites. The online sizing is different from the store sizing and the price is a little higher. The store price is $68. So I paid $37.4 for this amazing coat.

Next are these tall leather boots. It's made of 100% leather, and it's super soft. I really like the casual look of it. And the store price is $49.50 (again cheaper than online price of $54.5, interesting, never realized that before). So with 45% off I paid $27.22. The boots are bigger than its size. My daughter usually wears size 3 shoes, but she had to go down 2 sizes to fit, I got her a size 1. Some of you small feet ladies might be able to fit in a size 3. :)  These boots are very casual, so I'm expecting her to wear them everyday to school with her leggings or skinny jeans.

Can't leave the store without getting my son something otherwise he'd complain. "How come Jasmine get so many things, and I have none?!" So I was really happy to find this Sherpa four-pocket jacket. I love the utility jacket look, and the faux sherpa collar. It runs a bit big, but my boy is bigger than average, so it fits him very well. He's 8 and I bought a size 8.  Again the store price ($54.5) is 2 dollars cheaper than online, what's up with that? So with the discount I paid $29.97.

Now it's my turn. I can't believe this plaid ruffle shirt fit me until I tried it on. I think it's super cute in person and I got a size xs, which is usually HUGE on me. But this shirt isn't that bad, and I was looking for a relaxed casual fit. You can't quite tell from the picture, but the front is a single sided ruffle, and a cute necktie. Works very well on its own, or layered under a cardigan.

I tried it on right after I got home for some quick pictures.

Wow, just can't believe how red our "burning bushes" are already! I love fall.

For those of you who read extrapetite's post on the Loft Sculpted Sheath Dress and wonder how it fits on petites, this is a dressing room picture taken by my lovely daughter with me in size 00P. I think it fits too well to leave me any room for feasting, but the next size up 0P is too big all around. So I decided on the no feasting option.  The material is the Scuba material I really like, and I got the color black. The grey color doesn't come in petite sizes.
Oh see the velvety green jacket hanging on the door? My daughter really liked it on me, so I bought it as well.

It looks better in person than in the picture. I like the velvety look. I got an xxsp. The original price was $98, it was on sale for $79.99. With 50% all sales items, the jacket came down to $39.99. With my Loftcare card, I was able to knock another 25% off, so the jacket was mine for $30. Same deal applies to the sheath dress which was $89 originally, on sale for $74.99, 50% off makes it $37.49. With Loftcare card, the total comes down to $28.12.

On the regular priced items, I couldn't resist getting this wrap skirt. With 30% off deal this weekend and the extra 25% off this cute skirt was only $31.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far and enjoy the beautiful Sunday!

Abercrombie kids

I have purchased a few items in Loft over the years that I put in the washer and dryer a few times and it shrank to a point where I had to give them to my daughter.  She was more than happy to take whatever I couldn't fit in and work it into her outfits. Never did it dawn on me that it can work the other way around as well. I bought this sweater cardigan from Abercrombie last year during its seasonal clearance, for my daughter. It was a little big on her, but I thought she could grow into it in a year. I bought the size S which usually fits up to 54 inches in height, between the age of 8-10. She really loved it and wore it multiple times already. Last weekend this sweater and the sweater I shrank were laid flat to dry on the drying rack when I suddenly realize that my daughter's sweater is huge compared to the Loft xsp shrunken sweater. So I put it on and to my surprise, it fit perfectly. So now it's mine. Ha. I love the sequins on the pockets, just so cute.

Faux Fur for Fall

Say the title 10 times fast. :) I felt brilliant coming up with a tongue twister title like that!
Nothing looks warmer and cozier than fur. With the day time high temperature hovering between 50-60 F, I was desperate for something warm. This vest fits the bill. The vest was purchased a few years ago from Loft at a deep discount price. (around $20, so I got two, one for me, and one for my dear sister.)  The faux fur was well made, very soft and smooth, not scratchy like some low quality alternatives. It does keep me warm in cold fall and winter days.
Meet Sarina satchel by Junior Drake. Isn't it pretty? I am really loving it.

Outfit details:
Sweater: Tommy Hilfiger (xsp)
Vest: Loft (a few seasons ago)
Riding pants: Loft (oh, I love it! 00p.. On sale for $39.99 + 40% off. Buy it here)
Shoes: Bandolino (sz 6)
Gloves: Banana Republic Factory Store (one size)
Satchel: Junior Drake Sarina (buy it here)

Last but not least, the world's best apple pie! Too bad you can't taste them. They were gone within a day.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I noticed a bunch of new arrivals on Loft website, and some of them are quite cute. Did anyone go and try them on this weekend?

Plaid mini skirt with boots

Before I talk about the outfit today I'd like to mention an exciting news. An research analyst from MSO Marketing recently contacted me and asked me if I was interested in posting a few links on my blog directing to and get a discount code that I can share with my readers. I was more than happy to do that. I have used since they started their business I think. And I have to say that I was more than happy with them for every single purchase I made from them.  I have purchased from them everything from Jewelry to beddings, to furniture. One of my favorite acquisition was a bed (headboard + footboard) for my son's room. A king sized summer quilt I bought more than 10 years ago is still my favorite bedding of all.  Their online store carries very unique pieces at very reasonable prices. Best thing I like about them is their shipping is always $2.95. (New customers get free shipping on their first purchase.)  If you haven't visited them before, do stop by their online store. You won't be disappointed.  Here are some links for your shopping convenience:
Here is the discount code that you can use to get 10% off all products. Coupon code: 121728

Today's outfit is simple casual cute one. The mini skirt was from Esprit outlet and the size 0 fit amazingly well. The fit reminds of of some of the Express size 00 shorts. The sweater is from H&M and it was worn last here. You know I love a piece if you see it more than once in such a short time. :)  New England got hit by Nor'easter on Friday. The storm was such a hype in the news that it looked ridiculous in reality. We did get some wind though. That's why you are seeing the wind-blown me standing here in front of you.

Outfit details:
Sweater: H&M
Skirt: Esprit outlet (sz 0)
boots: Jessica Simpson
Necklace: Kenneth Cole

Disclaimer: All the ideas and opinions expressed are my own. No monetary compensation was received for doing this post, however, I was provided with a discount code.

BR factory coat and H&M jacket

I have been having some sort of blogger's block recently. I have no inspiration on putting together an outfit worth posting. So I contemplated using an old picture from September yesterday. I looked at it and shook my head. I could not think of any words to go with it. PLUS, I have been sleeping in a lot recently, so no time for pictures in the morning. So today's post will not be an OOTD. Today's post is really on two jackets, or one coat and one jacket to be precise. Please don't criticize me on the length of my jeans. I know they are too short. It shrank over the course of 5 years for at least 1.5 inches. I bought it at the perfect length, (it wasn't easy, alright), then it just got shorter and shorter. Now it's good for 1 inch heels. If only there was an article like this one written by Kelly from Alteration Needed to explain the shrinking effect of jeans with 98% cotton content! Do check it out, it's very comprehensive and interesting.

The first coat was bought last weekend from Banana Republic Factory store. (size xsp) I was wearing a thick sweater (see this post) then. When I tried it on, it felt like it fitted very well. Then when I put it on to take a picture this morning, it didn't feel right. It felt "big" on me. It didn't look as nice as when I tried it on. I was wearing a cami and a cardigan underneath so it was significantly lighter compared to the cable sweater I was wearing when I tried it on in the store. What do you guys think? The material is 67% polyester, 27% wool, and 6% other fibers. It's pretty thin, so I can't wear it in the middle of winter. It's more of a fall coat.

The next jacket is from H&M. I saw it on Jean from Extra Petite first and had the opportunity to grab a grey one of size 2 a few weeks ago. I really like this jacket. It fits well, very comfy, and cute.

Pumpkin Spice

Hello everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was busy. I spent a day to take advantage of the Columbus Day sales at the Wrentham Premium outlet mall and spent way too much money on new outfits. Out of all the stores I hit, Banana Republic had the most decent deals. I loaded up on fall outfits ranging from pullovers, hats, gloves, coat (yes, I bought another coat, sigh...).  I broke the recent grey trend of mine and purchased some items with colors. Yay!!! The most disappointing store was again Theory. I am starting to get irritated by them. I check on the store every time I go but recently they haven't been living up to my expectations.  How about you? Did you get any good deals? Do share if you did.

Today my family went apple picking.  I didn't realize that the apple picking season was almost over when my daughter requested that we go apple picking this weekend. I said sure, then when I checked the picking calendar I was shocked to find out that today was Tougus Farm's last day of apple picking. We just made it. Lots of Empire apples for kids' favorite apple pie. (Yes, my kids believe that their mother makes the world's most delicious apple pie. And I'd like to believe it's true.)  Then the rest were ALL Fuji apples, my all time favorite.  Of course the trip was never complete without a pumpkin patch visit.  That was when this picture was taken:

All the following pictures were taking around my house.

Columbus Day sales

Hopefully this one will be better than the Labor Day one. :)  So far so good. The emails started trickling in since this morning and I like the sales from Loft. I was eying the tweed jacket for a while, it's finally priced right. I stopped by our local Loft store after work and picked one up (in xsp). I also recommend the fitted riding pants in both petite and regular size. I tried it on (in size 00P) just because it was on sale and was totally surprised by the fit.  Also I really like the V-Neck top with front draping in antique burgundy. It also comes in mint whisper and ribbon pink. I had to go down a size to xxsp to top front draping-vneck top with front draping loft fitted riding pants-petite fitted riding pants
I also stopped by Ann Taylor and tried on a few tops. They are also having a 40% extra off for sales items.
Ann Taylor-petite silk crepe smocked sleeve shirtAnn Taylor-sleeveless cowl neck top
The petite silk crepe smocked sleeve shirt looks like a good idea but looked horrible on me. I think it's because the sleeves were too busy. The petite sleeveless cowl neck top is very pretty in blue and sea salt, but the xsp size was too big for me. The arm hole could fit 5 of my arms in. So I came out of Ann Taylor empty handed. Good for my wallet.

Other sales this weekend:
Aldo: 25% off all clearance, and free shipping on all orders. online only offer.
Theory Outlet: Additional 25% off select styles (Oct 7-11)
Express: All outerwear & sweaters 30% off. (no code necessary) AND $15 off $60, $30 off $120, etc (use code 9982)

Happy Shopping!!!

Random deals and H&M sweater

Gap/Old Navy/Banana Republic 30% off with their card sale ends tonight. So hurry up if you are still planning on ordering stuff from them. Use code "SAVEBIG" and get 30% off almost everything, and yes, you can only find out what is qualified and what is not by checking out. Pain in the neck. I ordered 2 khaki flat front pants for my son and they turned out to be not qualified. Also you get free shipping on $100 purchase, no code necessary. Cool thing is the site considered my before discount amount to be $107 and automatically gave me the free shipping even though I ended up paying $79. Hehe. Don't forget to use to save an extra 2%. I didn't order anything for myself. But I did stock up on kids' clothing.

Also I have to pass on this tip from PAG. CVS is having a Revlon nail polish sale. They are now $3.99 which normally run for up to $8. Then you get $3 extrabucks per bottle, making them 99 cents each. Can you beat that? Go to the store and stock up! The sale ends Saturday 10/9.

Another tip I got from PAG which I kicked myself for not knowing it earlier was that H&M has an iphone app. If you download it and shake it you get a coupon for 20% off one item, which I could have used on the jacket I got last weekend (Yes, Jean, I got the same jacket you have in orange after resisting for a few weeks, only in grey. Oh I love it. It's so cold today that I had to wear it in the office) or the pretty periwinkle sweater featured in this post. Oh well.

Who's going to Target this Sunday to check out the Mulberry bags?

Moving on to today's outfit post. The sweater was $25 purchased from H&M. It's one of the "better made" clothing piece. I fell in love with the color as soon as I spotted it, and was really impressed by its workmanship. After all, I have very low expectation from H&M. Click on the image to get a closer look if you will, the buttons are extremely well made and cute. The place where buttons are sewn on is a different textured fabric, and I love the way they paid attention to details like this. The fit is tight and I prefer to wear it unbuttoned.

Outfit details:
Top: Esprit
Sweater: H&M (XS)
Jean leggings: Loft
Shoes: Bongo.
